Membership Contract · Version 0.1

A clear promise
before a product.

This working draft defines what a founding SAC member would pay, receive, and commit to during the proposed Los Angeles pilot.

Founder working draftNot an approved offer, legal agreement, or payment request.

The recommended founding membership

A Founding Member pays proposed annual dues of $500 for a 12-month membership in the proposed Los Angeles chapter. Membership includes one official Chapter Gathering per month, member identity and community access, founding-cohort recognition, and eligible partner benefits. Premium Adventures may require separate payment.

Every highlighted term needs founder confirmation.

What the club must reliably provide

The club experience is the commitment. Software supports delivery but is not itself the full product.

01

A home chapter

Assignment to the proposed Los Angeles pilot chapter and access to its official calendar and chapter information.

02

Recurring participation

One official Chapter Gathering offered each month without an additional event fee. Capacity and reservation rules may still apply.

03

Member identity

A member profile, active member credential while in good standing, chapter identity, and permanent Founding Member cohort recognition.

04

A participation layer

Tools for discovering events, reserving places, checking in, preserving an Adventure Log, and connecting after shared experiences as they become available.

05

Clear event information

A named host, capacity, cancellation policy, accessibility note, transportation note, pricing, and risk information for every official experience.

06

Community safeguards

A shared Charter, private-by-default personal information, reporting paths, and photo-consent controls before member accounts launch.

The value inside the annual fee

  1. 01One 12-month membership term and home-chapter standing
  2. 02One official Chapter Gathering offered each month
  3. 03Member credential, identity profile, and Founding Member recognition
  4. 04Access to chapter information, eligible tools, briefs, and member spaces
  5. 05Eligible partner benefits and member pricing when available
  6. 06One Scholarship Nomination Right during the active term

Annual DuesThe recurring fee for one 12-month membership term—not an event credit, cash balance, commission, or ownership interest.

Four experience types. No surprise pricing.

Chapter Gathering

One per month included

Official recurring local experience produced or approved by the chapter.

Member Meetup

Usually pay your own way

Informal member-organized activity that is not an official SAC production.

Premium Adventure

Separately priced before RSVP

Higher-cost experience involving guides, tickets, equipment, transportation, or lodging.

Partner Experience

Member price shown in advance

Experience or offer produced with an approved outside partner.

Transportation, lodging, food, alcohol, equipment, tickets, insurance, permits, and personal purchases are excluded unless an event page explicitly says otherwise.

Belonging comes with responsibilities

  • Follow the Charter, code of conduct, consent rules, host instructions, and event-specific safety requirements.
  • Reserve honestly, cancel promptly, and avoid repeatedly occupying limited capacity without attending.
  • Respect personal boundaries, photo preferences, venues, partners, hosts, and the surrounding community.
  • Pay separately disclosed Premium Adventure or third-party costs before attending those experiences.
  • Use SAC identity, patches, credentials, and chapter affiliation responsibly.

No hidden labor requirementHosting, mentorship, invitations, and chapter service are encouraged but are not a hidden condition of base membership.

Administration is not popularity

Good Standing

Dues are current and membership is not suspended or revoked. It is not a social rank.

Active Status

Proposed visible state earned through four official experiences or one approved contribution during the term.

Contribution Record

Appealable evidence of attendance, hosting, mentorship, and chapter work—not a Social Score.

Founding Member

Permanent launch-cohort recognition. It does not mean equity owner or company founder.

A nomination right—not a guaranteed free membership

One per active termScholarship Nomination Right

A member may nominate or sponsor a prospective member for private review. Acceptance and funding are not guaranteed and the right has no cash value.

No automatic renewal in the pilot

The v0.1 recommendation is a 12-month term with manual renewal. Membership is personal and nontransferable.

Rules still required before accepting payment

  • Renewal notice and consent
  • Refund or cooling-off window
  • Club-cancelled membership term
  • Suspension and termination
  • Separately purchased event cancellations

What membership does not promise

  • A guaranteed friendship, romantic match, business opportunity, job, audience, or social outcome
  • Unlimited event admission or a guaranteed seat when an experience has capacity or safety limits
  • Equity, stock, profit participation, voting securities, or ownership in SAC
  • Cash commissions, transferable credits, or dues reduction based on popularity
  • Universal free admission to Premium Adventures or third-party experiences
